Tour de Corse Historique: Cyclevia and Bruno Saby are working to collect waste oil and raise awareness amongst cycling enthusiasts

From 3 to 10 October 2026, Cyclevia was present at the Tour de Corse Historique alongside its ambassador, Bruno Saby. At the heart of the Calvi service park, a collection point for waste oil and its packaging was made available to the teams.
This initiative is part of the partnership between Cyclevia and Bruno Saby, winner of the 1986 Tour de Corse. Forty years on, Bruno was back on his favourite playing field, taking third place in the VHRS (consistency) category. It was also an opportunity for him to share with an audience of enthusiasts the best practices that are essential for the management of waste oil.
The collect scheme, comprising three containers, allowed competitors to deposit their waste oil – in sealed, leak-proof containers – as well as their waste oil containers.
This initiative aimed to provide a simple and safe solution for disposing of this hazardous waste, whilst raising awareness amongst drivers, mechanics and the public about the correct procedures for handling, storing and collecting it.
Only a few dozen litres were collected before being taken away by Cyclevia. A modest amount, but one that does not undermine the producer responsibility organisation’s confidence: this was the first collection on this circuit, and it always takes time for new habits to take hold. Nevertheless, the initiative is now well and truly underway!
