A few weeks after the 77th Mont-Blanc Rally in Morzine, where the partnership between the French Motor Sport Federation (FFSA) and Cyclevia came to life for the first time in the field, the momentum continued in Le Mans on 20 and 21 September during the 24-Hour Truck Race.
In Morzine, an awareness-raising and collection point was set up near the podium in the centre of the village, allowing the public and competitors to drop off their waste oil containers. The initiative was primarily educational, reminding people of the dangers of this type of waste to the environment and health, and encouraging everyone to adopt good practices.
Following on from this initial operation, Cyclevia took over the Le Mans circuit last weekend during the 24-Hours Truck Race, where more than 80,000 people were expected to attend. The objective was the same: to encourage motorsport enthusiasts, who are sometimes professionals themselves, to manage their waste sustainably and show them that every litre collected can become a reusable resource thanks to the circular economy.
This presence at Le Mans marks a new stage in a programme that will continue to be rolled out until the end of the 2025 season, notably at the Dreux Rallycross (11th and 12th October) and the Rally Final in Lisieux (16th to 18th October).
